Resulting from Immigration policy changes, arising from harsh treatment of partnership applications, it is now worth revisiting

If you haven’t received an email from Immigration New Zealand about your declined Partner of New Zealand citizen/resident visa application?

Immigration will be reassessing around 1200 declined partner of New Zealand citizen/resident applications lodged between 10 May to 31 October 2019 on the basis of the revised policy changes. Immigration NZ will be contacting people affected by email. If you don’t hear anything, then there are still options available that will allow you and your partner to begin living together in New Zealand. If you do not receive an email from Immigration NZ, have your situation reviewed for the purpose of identifying if a new visa application would be appropriate. Please contact our team of experienced Licenced Immigration Advisors to ensure your next application meets all the requirements. If the visa is approved, then Immigration can consider granting a refund on the application fees you previously paid but this is on a case by case basis, not guaranteed.

Do you want to support your partner for a New Zealand visa, but you haven’t lived together?

Immigration New Zealand are changing the way they assess partnerships, particularly those who have not lived together such as those recently married through a culturally arranged marriage. If you hold a Temporary work visa and wish to support or have attempted to support a partnership visa for your wife/husband/partner but have not lived together, then we may be able to help you get a suitable visa for your partner so they can come to New Zealand and you can begin living together. Please contact our team of experienced Licenced Immigration Advisors to ensure your next application meets all the requirements.
