Today during the NZAMI online AGM (online for the first time due to the recent lockdown) I am very pleased and proud to announce that I was elected NZAMI Chair.
You may not be aware, but I have been the Chair of NZAMI Board for the past 7 years and this year, for the first time in NZAMI’s long history (32 years) we had our voting collated by an off-shore company so that every member around the world had the opportunity to vote!
This was a contested election and the support and overwhelming belief I was shown in my work for not only NZAMI but also the entire Immigration industry was very humbling.
I have had a lot of support as Chair over the years (and Vice Chair when I first came onto the Board 7 1/2 years ago) and with Covid changing the shape of the world it has been an even tougher time of late. I wasn’t sure if I would stand again this year but I had so many people reach out asking me to stand for the good of the industry, I accepted the nomination.
