Come to New Zealand, we are worth a visit. Your journey could be for a holiday or looking for business opportunities – alternatively you could be coming to NZ for medical help.
Formalities include having a valid passport or travel document, applying for entry permission.
For entry permission, your immigration requirements depend on:
- The type of traveller you are.
- the type of passport you hold.
- The expiry date of your passport. Make sure your expiry date is at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave New Zealand – this is the easiest approach! Please note that some airlines require at least 6 months before expiry of your passport – make sure to check this out before you travel.
- Whether you need a Visa or an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority. This is determined by the passport you hold which may grant a Visa waiver which means you only require an NZeTA.
- Completing a New Zealand Travel Declaration before entering New Zealand. There is a paper form provided on the flight or for those who wish to do the online version, view this link: New Zealand Traveller Declaration – Start Your Declaration | New Zealand Traveller Declaration
- Ensuring that you have evidence of your exit plan from New Zealand like travel tickets etc.
There are also Visa waiver countries for which you would apply for the NZeTA instead of a Visa. Click here to view the list of Visa waiver countries: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/preparing-a-visa-application/your-journey-to-new-zealand/before-you-travel-to-new-zealand/visa-waiver-countries
Length of visit – Provide a genuine reason for coming to New Zealand and have the evidence to support this. An example for a holiday visit would look like a planned itinerary of where you are going and accommodation bookings etc.
Please note, you can study up to 3 months on the Visitor Visa!
