Fee increase visa changes

Immigration New Zealand (INZ) have announced they are increasing their fees on the 1st of October 2024.

The New Zealand Government has justified the fee hike by pointing to the increasing costs of processing visa applications and the need to improve the overall efficiency and security of the immigration system. INZ noted that the current fees were no longer sufficient to cover the expenses associated with visa processing, compliance, and enforcement.

The increase is also intended to ensure that New Zealand can continue to provide high-quality services to migrants and maintain robust border controls. With the pressures of global migration and the need to adapt to changing circumstances, including technological advancements and enhanced security requirements, the government sees this move as necessary.

Please note that in many instances, attempting to handle an application yourselves can result in larger fees being payable in the event of a declined application, as it will result in a significant amount of work to correct the situation. Please think carefully about your application.
