Thinking outside the box – Large corporate project

At the end of 2022, Woburn International were approached by a very large New Zealand Corporate looking for help to relocate and settle approximately 150 migrant workers from different countries to cities in New Zealand.  They asked us to assist with every step from booking flights, long term temporary accommodation, transfers from airports, settlement presentations and looking after each individual migrant with any questions they might have.  They needed our assistance for every step of this large undertaking.

We were excited to take this on.  We are a company that always thinks outside the box and this was a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate just that!

Once we understood the company’s needs we moved to put plans in place to connect and reconnect with service providers for the project.  Supporting all the transferees with flights from their varied home countries, airport transfers to long-temporary accommodation in the cities they were relocating to, plus a detailed in-person settlement presentation delivered by a Woburn Consultant.  We did it all, everything was pre-paid so the settlement was smooth and comfortable for each individual transferee.

Groups were met by friendly drivers who would deliver them to their inner city accommodation and check in to their new homes for the next 4 weeks.  The little things like a welcome/arrival letter would be emailed to each person – we knew from our long-established Relocation experience that it can make such a difference to someone arriving in a new country for the first time.  We took the time to provide each group or individual, with information on clothing needs for the climate, eating options close by, supermarkets open late, and mobile phone shops to help them settle in.  An introduction sheet about moving to New Zealand a new country as well as the in-person, face-to-face presentation, provided by a Woburn Consultant, made such a difference.

We have established a new network of great providers so we could provide this service.  Our very experienced Consultants provided excellent support with the presentations, and we were able to fulfil every request that was asked of us and more!

We delivered a quality product from start to finish.

Feedback from New Zealand corporate on this project – July 2023

The process of Settling In new arrivals to NZ was very new for us as a business and for me as an individual but due to the support from Jackie and the Woburn team this process has been smooth and efficient …..

We had some minor bumps along the way with certain individuals not boarding their flights which was out of anybody’s control but even then, the communication from Jackie and the team was excellent, and a resolution was quickly found meaning, in most cases these individuals were booked on flights to NZ either the same day or the next day if available.

The feedback we have received from our new employees that Woburn have been supporting has also been very positive. At times we came to Woburn with late requests (sometimes a seven-day turnaround) to get our employees booked on flights, booked into accommodation and to arrange for airport pickups and Settling In presentations to be provided and I cannot think of a single time where these requests were turned down or where the tight timeframe created any issues or stress ……

The new arrivals have joined the business feeling supported and respected thanks to the help from Jackie and the Woburn team and I am sure they will forever be grateful for being given such a stress-free introduction to life in NZ.

If we do turn our attention to overseas recruitment again in the future, I will most definitely be contacting Woburn International and would highly recommend that others do the same.
