New Zealand is making it easier for foreign investors to settle and invest in the country. Recent changes to immigration and property rules now allow residency visa holders, gained through investment, to purchase residential property under certain conditions.
Note: We’ve recently published a separate article detailing the upcoming Business Investor Visa, make sure to check it out.
Foreign Investors Can Now Buy Homes
Under new rules, foreign nationals holding a residency visa through the Active Investor Plus “Golden Visa” investment will be allowed to purchase a home in New Zealand. The minimum value of the house that can be bought or built will be set at $5m. This marks a significant shift from previous restrictions and is part of a broader strategy to attract high-value investors who can contribute to the housing supply and economic development.
The policy change is designed to ensure that investments go into new housing developments. This means investors can help grow New Zealand’s housing stock while securing a place to live.
