Ann Nolan, Immigration Advisor

Ann was tempted away from the New Zealand Immigration Service, when June suggested she join the Woburn team. It was a great opportunity for Ann to apply the knowledge and skills she had built up over many years helping companies and individuals with immigration advice. That was in 2004. Ann has remained a leading member of the Woburn team since.

With an extensive and varied background that extends beyond the immigration sector, Ann is a great asset to Woburn. She deals with a wide range of our corporate clients, both in New Zealand and offshore.

During her Chamber of Commerce days in the 1990s, Ann advocated for employers, even coming up against then Prime Minister, Helen Clark. At the time, Ann was backing the business community’s objections to the Government’s ideas on policy. What resulted from this difference of opinion was an invitation to join the business branch of Immigration NZ, where Ann set up the first accreditation policy unit. This policy was still in place up until the Immigration reset. This demonstrated the quality of thought that went into the development.

NZ Immigration Service experience

Working for the NZ Immigration she administered the new work to residence policies to support global recruiting for specialist positions. Holding seminars and meetings to market and train on the new Accreditation policy promoting the benefits to companies seeking to recruit special talent globally.

In addition to working with Woburn International, Ann is a Justice of the Peace of 36 years, and was awarded a “long service JP” from Ministry of Justice after 30 years in the role. This involves regular upskilling to make sure she stays up to date with this important voluntary role.
