Relocation Conference

In April, June Ranson attended the EuRa conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The EuRA is the professional industry body for relocation providers and affiliated services. As a non-profit organisation, EuRA aim to promote the benefits of professionally managed relocation to companies with globally mobile employees. At Woburn International, we provide Relocation Services and this event enables us to strengthen our global partnerships in this space.

Highlights of the Relocation Conference

Throughout the four day event, there were a myriad of events where industry professionals discussed important issues affecting immigration. As the current immigration climate is fraught with change, this gave June the opportunity to see how these changes are being dealt with at a global level. Some of the sessions hosted at the conference are:

Moving and Relocation – Bridging the Gap, Unveiling the Myths

At this session experts from both the Moving and Relocation industries, along with the audience, will brainstorm how moving and relocation companies can work together even better to provide an enhanced customer experience during their move.

The Impact of Economic Nationalism Upon Immigration Policies and Procedures

This discussion focuses on how governments implement nationalistic policies and procedures into the immigration system without formally changing regulations. For example, in the United States, the Trump administration is imposing ‘extreme vetting’ procedures into all areas of immigration (including business immigration). There are more than two dozen changes that have been implemented without re-writing the rules. The danger here is that it makes it incredibly difficult for many companies/individuals to be compliant.

Expanding into New Markets

The panel will discuss how do governments attract investment by offering facilitated schemes to companies. It will also discover ways that you can help your clients plan their business operations in advance. They will look at immigration opportunities and the risks associated with expanding into new markets.
